"G. R. Dray and Son was established in 1962, however, our family have been thatchers for five generations. We are members of the National Society of Master Thatchers of which I am a member of the Executive Committee. I am also a member of the Devon and Cornwall Master Thatchers Association of which I am a founder member from when it was reformed in 1968.

We thatch with both Combed Wheat Reed, which is our local material to the West Country, and Water Reed, which can last almost twice as long.

The services that we can provide for you are varied - from on-site consultations, estimates, surveys and insurance advice through to repairs and total re-thatching. We can put together teams of highly skilled craftsmen for the very large property, for which we are renowned, or work on normal sized cottages down to well tops or even porches."
